Myofascial Qigong: Expanding Into Your Movement (Moving from the Center)

This workshop will focus on integrating the mind, body and spirit through movement and releasing tension. Through an understanding of the fascia we can begin to understand how the parts of the body are related and begin to move the body as a whole instead of isolated parts.

Qigong teaches us that our primary energy center is located in our lower belly, our physical center of gravity. By learning to move from our center, connecting our mind, body and breath, we move with less effort and reduce our tension. We shift our focus from seeing those places where we are stiff or have pain and begin to see how the parts can fit together and move more “wholistically”. As our postural integration increases we become less awkward and clumsy in our movement and more coordinated. We become more connected to the earth that we live on and sensitive to the universal energy that surrounds us. We become more focused and less distracted. Our personal energy increases and we are calmer and less exhausted in our lives.
